FAQ
How to seek redress for online shopping fraud?
For online shopping fraud, keep transaction records and file a complaint with the Consumer Council; for actual scams, report to the Judicial Police and consider civil proceedings to recover losses.
If defrauded in an online purchase: (1) preserve all evidence — order screenshots, payment records, chat logs, product descriptions, and seller details; (2) for local sellers, file a complaint with the Consumer Council, which can mediate; (3) for actual scams (payment without delivery, vanished seller, stolen card), report promptly to the Judicial Police; (4) for larger sums or if the seller refuses a refund, consider civil proceedings — small-claim cases can use the Small Claims Tribunal. Credit-card payments may also be reversible via your bank's chargeback process. Prevention beats cure: buy from reputable platforms, and prefer third-party escrow services.
